PANTS TO CHURCH..whaa?

Pants to church, huh?

Well. Alright. If any woman feels thats what they need to feel
"equal" in the church, than so be it.

BUT.

I would like to voice my opinion on this subject.
I am a fairly open minded person.
Very tolerant of different opinions
(whether they be dumb or not).
So, please, don't think I'm only saying these things
without giving it some thought.

No where is it written that women have to wear a
skirt or dress to church. In fact, the only known
'dress code' is for worthy priesthood holders,
a white shirt and tie,
while performing priesthood duties.
These women who feel inferior to the men of the church,
need to realize that it's a sign of respect towards God.
It isn't a 'dress code'.
It's a suggestion.
It's the same thing as the Asian culture taking
off their shoes before entering a home.
Or a man simply taking their hat off when entering a building.

Not only is it a sign of respect, it is sign of being unified,
 as sisters in Zion.
It is the same thing as a sports team
wearing the same jersey.
The armed forces wearing the same gear.
A dance team wearing the same costume.
The list goes on and on.

Now, would you wear your best clothes to clean your house?
Of course not.
Nor would you wear jeans and a sweater to go swimming.
In our culture, we dress for the occasion.
Church is the occasion to give your best and wear your best.

Most women wear a skirt or dress to a job interview,
if you have that respect for an employer,
why would you not have that same respect for our Heavenly Father?
Who are we to not give Him one day out of the week?
 If you believe in Him,
you should respect Him,
and show that you do.

Not to mention, wearing a skirt or dress tends to influence
a woman to act more lady like.
To sit with her legs together.
Pants, do not allow that influence.
We act a certain way when we wear our Sunday best.

So, please, before making a rash decision,
think this through.
Decide whether or not you want to properly show your respect for Him.

INSERT 'ATTENTION GETTER' TITLE HERE...

You guys.. I'm tired of the
mind set that some women have.
The mind set of
"men are stupid. They have no minds.
We have to think for them."
Granted, some men are animals who can't control
their desires or emotions,
but, are we really gonna
lump ALL men into that category?
I hardly think that's fair.
We wouldn't appreciate it if men
lumped all women into
one thought, such as
"Women belong in the kitchen",
in fact, a man who thinks that
is looked down upon in society.
So, isn't it time we show men
the same respect that we expect?
Men don't want to be pushed around
any more than we do.
I've been raised and taught to
know that men and women are equals.
We have different jobs/roles in life,
but they are certainly equal.

So ladies, I challenge you to stop
thinking of men as
"stupid mindless creatures",
and treat them as your equal.
They deserve it just as much as you do.

Alright, that is all.

IT'S CHRISTMAS..SO SMILE, FART FACE! (:

One of my greatest pet peeves
is when people are just rude,
for no reason.
Or ornery.
Or, even worse, when people are
rude, because they choose to be that way.
It breaks my heart that these
people don't realize
that everyone is going through
their own hard times.
And that they should actually try
to be nice, and not make life harder
for others.
Quite frankly, it's inconsiderate,
and selfish. And absolutely childish

You never know when you're words
or actions will affect someone.
You never know what just a simple
smile could do.
Or a simple, "hey, how ya doin?"

All I want, is for everyone, especially it being
the Christmas season,
is to be more kind. More patient. More loving.
More caring. More everything nice.
Wipe the scowl off of your face,
slap a smile on,
and make someone's day.
Because, life really is more enjoyable that way.

YEAH, I'M LDS.

I think it's safe to say I love blogging.
(is there a cure for this?)

On a completely unrelated note,
I was sitting in Sacrement meeting today, right?
And I have no idea who said it
(mostly because I don't know most of the people in my college ward),
but she was quoting someone and said
"I did not pledge my life to a fairy tale."
Meaning, I believe in this church.
And those who say that it isn't true, are just ridiculous.
Especially when they use the excuse of
"a 14 year old boy claims he saw God and Christ,
and you're just gonna buy that?"
I understand how someone could think that, I do.
BUT.
When you've felt the things I have felt, and a million other members have felt,
then you would know without a doubt,
that it's true
And sometimes, isn't it amazing to believe in something
that sounds crazy out there?
But, only because you know the truth behind it.

I love this quote.
"I did not pledge my life to a fairy tale."
It sums up everything.
Because, the accusations that my religion was made up by
a man, with little education, is absurd.
That he wrote the
whole Book of Mormon by himself?
That seems more far fetched then the fact that he was 14 when
Heavenly Father and Christ appeared to him.

I wanted to bare my testimony today, but I'm kind of a chicken
when it comes to standing up in front of everyone and
expressing feelings.
I do much better behind a lit up screen and a keyboard.
That's why, right now, I want to bare my testimony.
I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
is the only true church.
It is Christ's church.
He loved us enough to die for us,
so why wouldn't He have a restored church with
modern day prophets?
It only makes sense.
I know that He lives.
I know, without a doubt in my mind,
that He and my Heavenly Father
know exactly who I am.
They know my name.
They know my heart.
They know my wants and desires.
I know that I am here for a divine purpose.
I have a mission here on earth,
and to my knowledge so far,
it is to bring the world His truth.
To get married in the temple.
To have a family.
Keep all of my covenants.
A return to Him, with honor.

I say these things, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
